PRE-LIGHT:
I pulled this one out of the cellophane and the smell immediately hit my nose, very bold. I found myself sniffing it for a good 60 seconds. I did the 'ol squeeze test and it's pretty firm all the way down except at the cap, there it's a tad soft. The wrapper is beautiful, and it complements the dark blue and bright green band quite well. It's defenently easy to spot in the humidor.

THE SMOKE:

It didn't want to burn even at first, but after a quick adjustment it was good. The taste is a little peppery, with big hints of leather and even wood, and I'm happy to report that this thing had a great taste from puff number one. I get close to the 1/3 mark and I have to even it out again. Ash seems to stay on strong. My choice of drink with this one is french vanilla coffee, no cream, extra sugar, and not the water i usually pair a cigar with. I feel I made a good choice, the coffee compliments the stogie quite nicely. The farther you go into this stick, the less pepper you get, the wood flavor really brings itself out in the end. If I didn't run out of coffee, I might just have nubbed this one. I would also like to note, that unlike most reviews I do, this one is based 100% on one cigar, it was my first CL3. So keep that in mind, I don't normally like to do that, but I had an urge to review this one.

OVERALL:
This was a nice smoke, though through out the smoke i had to correct it multiple times. It was very enjoyable and I will be picking up more of them. The flavors didn't take many turns, and it wasnt as strong as i had expected. I am still very pleased. I encourage anyone who as not had one, to give them a try.

RATING:
8 out of 10
