PRE-LIGHT:
Firm all the way through, very good looking wrapper, virtually flawless. Very eye catching, light brown / tan color.  The smell is nice, but not very strong. Pre lite draw gives alot of hay flavor. Not much else to say here, on to the review.

THE SMOKE:

Didn't take long to light at all for a 52 RG smoke. I get a bit of nut and hay, with just a hint of leather, primarily nut on the retro-hail, this is a creamy smoke for sure. Every so often, I get a small taste of caramel, this, of coarse, blends in nicely with the nut flavors. This is a mild, borderline, medium cigar, and very smooth. After a few minutes, (1/8th of my way in maybe?) I get a fresh grass taste, and the leather is starting to come in a little more, but the hay and nut is still the primary flavors. The burn isn't perfect, but seems to correct its self nicely, at least for the first 1/3. The ash is a nice white color, still holding on.  I have to say that this is a well built cigar, and I'm very impressed so far, this is, of coarse, not my first Casa Gomez, but it is one of my first, and the first of this size. A little past 1/3 and the leather is presenting itself more in the retro-hail now as well. Close to half way point and it's not quite as smooth as it was in the beginning, but it's no were near being able to label it as harsh either, and is overall, still smooth. For anyone wanting to know, I am drinking water with this, ran through a PUR filter, so there isn't much mineral flavor. To the water, this cigar isn't requiring me to drink much.  Right at half way, the white ash falls off. Also, im not one to usually destroy the end of a cigar with my mouth or teeth, but this one is softening up a little more then I would like, and I found that to be the case with previous casa gomez cigars as well, but so far, it hasn't presented its self to be too big of a problem. Still very smokable, the draw is nice, near perfect, even with the end giving caving just a bit. You may notice in one of the pictures, that it looks like a V cut, its not, it was punched, just showing the transition so far (still at half way through the cigar, give or take) as you can see in a couple of the pictures, I got a slight crack in the wrapper, close to the last 1/3 of this cigar, but its not a problem.  The flavor has changed much sense last time I spoke of it, until now, at 1/3, it more harsh, but not too harsh, its getting a little hot. And the nut seems to be no longer there, nor the fresh grass, just leather and hay. Still a good smoke, but I fear the end is near. I get  to the last ¼ and I have to end it, it started getting more harsh and too hot.
OVERALL:
a great experience with a great cigar. Not my first casa gomez. And definitely not my last, a very unique taste from a very unique blend. Personally, I liked the “lorens and the “seniors” sizes a little better, get a 5 pack sampler and you be the judge! I highly recommend this cigar, I honestly feel you cant go wrong with it, and im looking forward to making a box purchase when I get the chance.

RATING:
8.5 out of 10
